Katniss searches for Rue and finds her trapped in a net. The boy from District 1 spears Rue. Katniss kills him with an arrow. Rue dies in Katniss's arms, asking her to sing. Katniss sings a lullaby, and the mockingjays take up the song. She covers Rue's body with flowers as an act of defiance against the Capitol. The people of District 11 send Katniss a loaf of bread as a thank-you. Katniss vows to win for Rue.
