Interview Preparations

Katniss undergoes coaching for the televised interviews. Effie Trinket teaches her to walk in high heels and smile. Haymitch tries to find an angle for her, but she comes across as sullen and hostile. He suggests she act humble or compliment the audience, but she struggles. Cinna advises her to be herself and imagine she is talking to a friend. Katniss decides to focus on Cinna during the interview. She also has a moment with the Avox girl, who cleans her room and tucks her in, offering silent comfort.
