Recovery in the Cave

Peeta recovers from his infection thanks to the medicine. Katniss and Peeta spend days in the cave, growing closer. They share stories and kisses, and Haymitch sends them a feast of lamb stew. They discuss their feelings, and Peeta reveals he has loved Katniss since they were five. Katniss is confused but drawn to him. The rain stops, and they prepare to face Cato. Thresh is killed by Cato, leaving four tributes: Katniss, Peeta, Cato, and Foxface.
