Training Sessions

Katniss and Peeta attend group training with the other tributes. Haymitch instructs them to appear mediocre and save their best skills for private sessions. Katniss excels at knot-tying, camouflage, and edible plants, while Peeta shows strength in hand-to-hand combat. They avoid archery and weightlifting. The Career Tributes from Districts 1, 2, and 4 are arrogant and well-trained. Katniss notices Rue, a small girl from District 11, who reminds her of Prim. The Gamemakers observe but seem distracted.
