The Fight with the Fighting Trees

The travelers leave the Emerald City and walk through green fields. They come to a thick wood where the first row of trees has branches that seize and throw anyone who approaches. The Scarecrow is tossed back twice. The Tin Woodman chops a branch, and the tree recoils in pain. The others pass safely under, except Toto, who is caught but freed. They continue through the forest. This event introduces a minor obstacle that the Woodman's axe overcomes.
