The Return to the Emerald City via Winged Monkeys

The travelers decide to return to the Emerald City to claim Oz's promises. They get lost in the fields, and Dorothy uses the whistle to summon the Queen of the Field Mice, who tells her about the charm of the Golden Cap. Dorothy reads the charm and summons the Winged Monkeys. The Monkeys carry the entire party through the air to the Emerald City gate. The King of the Winged Monkeys tells Dorothy the story of Gayelette and Quelala, explaining why they must obey the Cap's owner. This event provides a quick resolution to the journey back and enriches the lore of Oz.
