The Summoning of the Winged Monkeys

Enraged by her failures, the Wicked Witch uses the Golden Cap for the third and last time to summon the Winged Monkeys. She commands them to destroy the Scarecrow and Tin Woodman, capture the Lion, but not harm Dorothy because of the mark on her forehead. The Monkeys tear the straw from the Scarecrow, drop the Tin Woodman on sharp rocks, and tie up the Lion. They carry Dorothy and Toto to the Witch's castle. This event marks the low point for the group, as they are separated and seemingly defeated.
