Confrontation with the Guard

A Louvre security guard, Claude Grouard, enters the Salle des Etats and finds Langdon. He aims his gun at Langdon, believing him to be the murderer. Sophie, still in the room, distracts the guard by threatening to damage the priceless Da Vinci painting, Madonna of the Rocks. She forces the guard to drop his weapon and radio. Langdon and Sophie then escape the museum, taking the guard's pistol with them.
