Langdon Meets Fache

Langdon is escorted into the Louvre by Lieutenant Collet and meets Captain Bezu Fache, a stern and intimidating man known as 'le Taureau' (the Bull). Fache questions Langdon about his planned meeting with Saunière and his area of expertise, which is goddess worship and the sacred feminine. Fache seems skeptical and is recording their conversation. Langdon feels uneasy as they descend into the museum's subterranean foyer and head towards the Grand Gallery, where Saunière's body lies.
