Cryptex Unlocked

Langdon, pretending to cooperate, throws the cryptex high into the air. Teabing dives to catch it, but it hits the floor and breaks. Teabing is devastated, believing the map is destroyed. However, Langdon reveals he had already opened the cryptex. The password was 'APPLE,' referring to the apple that fell on Newton's head, the 'orb' that should be on his tomb. Langdon has the papyrus map. The police, led by Fache, arrive and arrest Teabing.
