Crage Hall's kitchen garden, accessible from the adjacent stable roof, becomes a clandestine meeting place for Boq, Elphaba, and Glinda. Boq climbs the stable roof to spy on the girls' dormitory, falls into the lettuces, and is discovered by Elphaba, who arranges a rendezvous with Glinda there. The garden is also where Elphaba and Glinda escape over the wall when they flee to the Emerald City.
