Victor's Childhood and Family

Victor Frankenstein begins his narrative by describing his idyllic childhood in Geneva. He tells of his loving parents, Alphonse and Caroline, and the adoption of his 'more than sister,' Elizabeth Lavenza. He also introduces his close friend, Henry Clerval. Victor's early life is marked by happiness, love, and a burgeoning curiosity about the natural world.
