Victor's Return to Geneva

Victor's father, Alphonse, arrives in Ireland to take him home. They travel to Paris, where Victor's health slowly improves. He is still consumed by guilt and despair, but he is determined to return to Geneva to protect his remaining family from the monster. He finally agrees to marry Elizabeth, believing that the monster's threat is directed at him alone.
