Meeting Vasudeva and Becoming a Ferryman
Siddhartha returns to the river and finds the same ferryman, Vasudeva, who had once carried him across. He asks to stay and learn from him, offering his clothes as payment. Vasudeva accepts him, and Siddhartha becomes his assistant, learning to operate the boat and work in the fields. He begins to learn from the river, which teaches him to listen and understand the oneness of life.
