Journey to the Miners' Hut from "A Christmas Carol". The Spirit takes Scrooge to a bleak and desert moor, where miners live.

Christmas Day, during the Second Spirit's visit

Journey to the Miners' Hut

The Spirit takes Scrooge to a bleak and desert moor, where miners live. They pass through the wall of a hut and find a cheerful company assembled around a glowing fire, with an old man singing a Christmas song. The Spirit then takes Scrooge to a solitary lighthouse on a dismal reef of sunken rocks, where two men who watch the light wish each other a Merry Christmas over their grog. Finally, they visit a ship at sea, where every man on board hums a Christmas tune or has a Christmas thought. These scenes demonstrate that the spirit of Christmas is present even in the most isolated and harsh environments.
