The Debtors' Relief

Scrooge begs the Spirit to show him someone who feels emotion caused by this man's death. The Phantom reveals a room where a young couple, Caroline and her husband, are discussing the death of their creditor. The husband tells Caroline that the man is dead, and they are relieved, as they can now sleep with light hearts. Caroline is thankful in her soul, though she prays for forgiveness the next moment. The only emotion the Ghost can show Scrooge caused by the death is one of pleasure. Scrooge is horrified.
