The Christmas Concert

The Avonlea school, under Miss Stacy's direction, puts on a concert to raise money for a flag. Anne is a star performer, reciting two pieces. Matthew, wanting Anne to look her best, secretly commissions Mrs. Lynde to make her a beautiful dress with puffed sleeves. The concert is a triumph, and Anne feels a sense of accomplishment and belonging.
