The Liniment Cake

Marilla invites the new minister, Mr. Allan, and his wife to tea. Anne, eager to impress, bakes a layer cake. Due to a cold, she mistakes a bottle of anodyne liniment for vanilla flavoring, ruining the cake. Mrs. Allan kindly laughs off the incident, comforting the mortified Anne.
