The Children Arrive at the Professor's House
Four siblings—Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie—are evacuated from London during World War II and sent to live with an old Professor in a large country house. They are initially awed by the house's size and the Professor's eccentric appearance. That first night, they discuss their new surroundings, with Peter expressing excitement about exploring the house and grounds, while Edmund is irritable and tired. The children sense that this house will be a place of adventure.
