During a game of hide-and-seek, Lucy hides in the wardrobe to avoid being found, but she does not shut the door properly. Edmund sees her go in and follows, intending to tease her. Inside, he finds himself not in the wardrobe but in the snowy wood of Narnia. He calls for Lucy but gets no answer. He realizes that Lucy was telling the truth and feels a pang of guilt for his earlier behavior. He then hears bells and sees a sledge approaching, driven by a dwarf and carrying a majestic, pale-faced lady.
