The Children Reach the Stone Table

The Beavers and the three children continue their journey through the spring landscape. They climb a hill and see the Stone Table—a great, ancient slab of stone—and a pavilion with a banner bearing a red lion. In the center of a gathering of mythical creatures stands Aslan himself, a magnificent lion. The children are awed and trembling. Peter steps forward and greets Aslan, who welcomes them warmly but asks about the fourth child. Mr. Beaver explains Edmund's betrayal.
