The Flight from the Beavers' House

Realizing that Edmund has betrayed them and that the Witch will soon attack, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver quickly pack supplies. The group—Peter, Susan, Lucy, and the Beavers—flee into the snowy night. They take a hidden path along the riverbank to avoid the sledge. They eventually take refuge in a small, hidden cave, where they sleep. The next morning, they hear sleigh bells and fear the worst, but Mr. Beaver discovers it is not the Witch's sledge.
