Edmund Lies to the Others

Edmund meets Lucy in the wood, and they return together through the wardrobe. When they find Peter and Susan, Lucy joyfully announces that Edmund has also seen Narnia. But Edmund, feeling spiteful and wanting to avoid admitting he was wrong, pretends that they were only pretending. He denies the existence of Narnia, leaving Lucy devastated. Peter is furious with Edmund for his cruelty. The older children begin to worry that Lucy might be mentally unwell.
