Christine's Dressing-Room Scene

After the masked ball, Raoul follows Christine to her dressing-room and hides in the inner room. He hears her murmur 'Poor Erik!' and then sees her speak to an invisible voice, which sings to her. The voice is beautiful and captivating, and Christine seems entranced. Raoul, watching from behind the curtain, is overwhelmed by jealousy and confusion. He sees Christine walk toward a mirror and disappear, as if through the glass.
