Raoul Shoots at Erik

Raoul goes to bed, but he sees two glowing eyes at the foot of his bed. He fires his revolver at them, and the eyes disappear. He finds blood on the balcony, indicating that he has wounded someone. His brother, Count Philippe, is alarmed, but Raoul is convinced that it was Erik. This event shows Raoul's determination to fight the ghost.
