In Christine's dressing-room, she realizes that the gold ring Erik gave her is missing. She is terrified, as Erik had said that if she lost the ring, he would take revenge. Raoul tries to reassure her, but Christine is convinced that something terrible will happen. She refuses to flee immediately, insisting on waiting until the next night.
