The Managers Visit Box Five
Richard and Moncharmin decide to investigate Box Five themselves. They visit the box during the day and find nothing unusual, but they both claim to have seen a shape in the box, though they disagree on what it looked like. They laugh it off as an illusion, but they are secretly uneasy. They decide to watch the next performance of Faust from Box Five to see if the ghost appears.
