The Ring on Christine's Finger

Raoul visits Christine at Mamma Valerius's apartment and sees a plain gold ring on her finger. He questions her about it, but she refuses to explain, saying it is a present. Raoul is hurt and suspicious, and he confronts her about the voice and the ring. Christine becomes angry and tells him that he will never know the man's name. She also makes him promise not to try to find out about the voice.
