The Tortures Begin

The room begins to heat up, and the mirrors create illusions of a forest, then a desert, and finally a mirage of water. Raoul and the Persian suffer from heat and thirst, and Raoul becomes delirious. They discover a trapdoor leading to a cellar filled with barrels, which they hope contain water, but they find gunpowder instead.
