Jim Meets Long John Silver

Jim, sent by the squire to deliver a note to Long John Silver at the Spy-glass Tavern, meets the one-legged cook. Silver is charming and friendly, and Jim is immediately reassured that he is not the feared one-legged sailor. However, Jim spots Black Dog in the tavern, and Silver pretends to be angry, sending men after him, but Black Dog escapes. Silver later reports the incident to the squire and doctor, who are satisfied with his conduct.
