Jim, after his adventures with Ben Gunn, makes his way to the stockade and climbs over the palisade. He is warmly welcomed by his friends. He tells them about Ben Gunn and the treasure. The captain divides the men into watches, and they bury Tom Redruth. They discuss their situation and decide to fight the mutineers, hoping that rum and fever will weaken them.
