Opening the Sea-chest

Jim and his mother, determined to collect the money owed to them, return to the inn and open the captain's sea-chest. They find clothes, trinkets, and a canvas bag of gold. As they count out their due, they hear the blind man's stick tapping outside. They flee with the money and an oilskin packet containing papers, just as the pirates break into the inn.
