The Shore Party

The captain allows the crew to go ashore for the afternoon. Thirteen men, including Silver, go ashore in two boats. Jim, on a sudden impulse, slips into one of the boats and goes ashore with them. He hides in the bushes and watches as Silver and another man, Tom, argue. Silver tries to persuade Tom to join the mutiny, but Tom refuses. Suddenly, a scream is heard from the marsh—another honest sailor, Alan, has been killed.
