The Cruise of the Coracle

Jim wakes to find himself at sea, near the south-west end of the island. He tries to paddle to shore but is carried by the current. He sees the Hispaniola, under sail, with no one steering. He decides to board her. After a difficult chase, he manages to leap aboard, leaving his coracle to be crushed.
