Patrick Hockstetter's Death

Beverly Marsh witnesses Patrick Hockstetter, a disturbed boy who kills animals, open a discarded refrigerator in the dump. Inside, the refrigerator is infested with flying leeches that attack Patrick. Beverly watches in horror as the leeches drain Patrick's blood. A figure—It—appears and drags Patrick away into the Barrens. Beverly later finds Patrick's body in the sewers. The incident reveals the extent of It's power and its ability to use the town's infrastructure to kill. It also shows that the Losers are not immune to the danger; they are being hunted.
