Richie Tozier's Return
Richie Tozier, a successful Los Angeles disc jockey known as the Man of a Thousand Voices, receives a call from Mike Hanlon. The call triggers fragmented memories of his childhood in Derry, including the death of George Denbrough and the bullying by Henry Bowers. Richie experiences a painful burning sensation in his eyes, which he later realizes is psychosomatic smoke from the past. He books a flight to Boston and then to Bangor, feeling like a dead man walking. He drives to Derry, and upon seeing the town sign, he is overwhelmed by the return of repressed memories.
