Harriet meets the Martins at Ford's

While shopping at Ford's, Harriet has an awkward encounter with Elizabeth Martin and her brother Robert. They are polite but distant, and Harriet is deeply flustered. She runs to Hartfield to tell Emma, who tries to comfort her by dismissing the encounter as insignificant. The meeting, however, reopens old wounds and reminds Harriet of what she has given up.
