Jane Becomes a Teacher at Lowood

Jane spends eight years at Lowood, first as a student and then as a teacher. She excels in her studies and becomes the first girl of the first class. She is then appointed as a teacher, a position she holds for two years. During this time, Miss Temple marries and leaves Lowood, which makes Jane feel restless and eager for a change. She realizes she longs for a wider world and a new life. This period of stability ends with Jane's decision to seek a new position.
