Cathy Ames's Childhood

Cathy Ames is born in a small town in Massachusetts, the only child of a tanner. From a very young age, she is a monster, lacking kindness, conscience, and any normal human emotion. She has a face of innocence but uses her sexuality and understanding of human weakness to manipulate others. She is a liar and a thief, and she feels contempt for the people she easily controls.
