Fagin Sets Noah to Spy on Nancy

Fagin, suspicious of Nancy's changed behavior and her desperate desire to leave the house on Sunday nights, orders Noah to follow her. Noah, disguised as a countryman, shadows Nancy to her secret meeting on London Bridge with Rose and Mr. Brownlow. He hides on the stairs and overhears the entire conversation, learning of Nancy's betrayal and the plot against Monks. He then rushes back to report everything to Fagin. This act of surveillance seals Nancy's fate.
