Oliver Delivered to Bill Sikes

Fagin tells Oliver that he is to be taken to Sikes's house. Oliver is terrified but cannot resist. Nancy comes to fetch him, and despite her own misgivings, she leads him away. At Sikes's lodging, Sikes threatens Oliver with a pistol, warning him that he will be shot if he makes a sound or tries to escape. Oliver is forced to spend the night there, and early the next morning, Sikes leads him out into the dark, rainy streets to begin the journey to Chertsey. This marks the point of no return for Oliver's involvement in the burglary.
