Oliver's Parentage Revealed

In a final meeting at the hotel in Oliver's hometown, Monks, under pressure from Mr. Brownlow, confesses the full truth. Oliver is the illegitimate son of Edwin Leeford and Agnes Fleming. Monks is their legitimate son from a separate, unhappy marriage. Edwin Leeford's will left a portion of his estate to Agnes and her child, but Monks's mother destroyed the will.
