The Graveyard Bombardment

A heavy bombardment forces the men to take cover in a graveyard. The shelling is intense, and the earth is torn apart. Paul finds shelter under a coffin, which protects him from the splinters. A gas attack follows, and the men struggle to put on their gas masks. A recruit is wounded by a falling coffin, and they work to free him. The bombardment finally lifts, and they stumble back to their lorries, exhausted and shaken.
