Hyde Murders Sir Danvers Carew
A maid servant witnesses a brutal murder from her window. She sees an aged, beautiful gentleman (Sir Danvers Carew) politely accost a small man, who suddenly flies into a rage, clubs the old man to death with a heavy cane, and tramples his body. The murderer is Edward Hyde. The maid faints, and when she recovers, she calls the police. The broken cane and a sealed envelope addressed to Mr. Utterson are found on the victim.
