Utterson Visits the Ill Jekyll

Mr. Utterson goes to Dr. Jekyll's laboratory, where he finds the doctor looking deathly sick. Jekyll swears he is done with Hyde and that Hyde will never be heard from again. He shows Utterson a letter from Hyde, which Utterson takes away. The lawyer suspects the letter may have been forged in Jekyll's own cabinet, and his fears are confirmed when his clerk, Mr. Guest, points out that the handwriting in Hyde's letter closely resembles Jekyll's, only differently sloped.
