Nessarose Arrives at Shiz

Nessarose, Elphaba's younger sister, arrives at Shiz with Nanny. Nessarose is beautiful but armless, a condition she bears with grace. She is also deeply religious, a trait that often puts her at odds with Elphaba. Boq meets them at the coach. Madame Morrible arranges for Nessarose and Nanny to take Ama Clutch's old room. Nessarose's arrival changes the dynamic of Elphaba's life, as she must now care for her sister. Glinda is initially wary of Nessarose but is also impressed by her beauty and composure. The sisters' reunion is warm, but their fundamental differences in worldview are already apparent.
