The Visit to the Philosophy Club

After Ama Clutch's funeral, a group of students, including Boq, Avaric, and Fiyero, visit the Philosophy Club, a notorious den of debauchery. They are led by a crone named Yackle and a dwarf. Inside, they witness a ritualistic orgy involving a Tiger, a woman, and a bound man. The experience is traumatic for Boq and Tibbett, who is never the same afterward. Meanwhile, Elphaba and Glinda do not go; instead, Elphaba reveals her plan to go to the Emerald City to see the Wizard. The night marks a divergence in the paths of the characters, with some descending into hedonism and others committing to political action.
