Building a new boat

Ged recovers from his ordeal. He builds a new boat from driftwood and the wreckage of his old boat, using both carpentry and magic. The old woman gives him a gift: a broken ring, a piece of jewelry. He guesses that she and the old man are exiled royalty from the Kargad Empire. He sets a charm on their brackish well, making it a spring of sweet water. He then sails away, leaving them to their desolate life. This act of kindness and the gift of the ring will have consequences in his later adventures.
