Confrontation with the gebbeth

Skiorh, now a gebbeth (a body possessed by the shadow), leads Ged across the Keksemt Moors. As dusk falls, the gebbeth turns and speaks Ged's true name, paralyzing his wizardry. It attacks, and Ged fights it off with his staff, which burns and smolders. He drops the staff and runs. The gebbeth pursues him tirelessly, whispering and calling his name. Ged, exhausted and terrified, sees a light ahead and stumbles toward it. He plunges through a gate, collapsing just as the gebbeth tries to seize him. He has been saved, but he is now inside the Court of the Terrenon.
