Fog-weaving at Ten Alders

Duny, having hidden the village in a thick fog, directs the villagers to lead the Kargish warriors toward the High Fall cliff. The invaders, unable to see, chase phantom shapes through the mist. Several Kargs fall to their deaths over the cliff, and others are killed by the villagers in the confusion. The remaining Kargs flee in terror down the mountain, where they are later harried and killed by forces from the East Forest. The battle is won, but Duny collapses, having overspent his power. He lies speechless and feverish for five days, his life hanging in the balance. This event reveals the immense power within him, but also the danger of using it without proper knowledge.
